Shiny Things was born in May 2013 but it has been a work in progress for much much longer than that.  I have had a fascination for beads for as long as I can remember. I began buying and collecting beads in my teens and when my creations began to pile up and my bead hoard began to threaten to take over my house I began to sell at farmers markets and craft shows. I eventually decided to take the plunge and open a retail storefront in Midland Ontario. After two years I finally had to accept that a small customer base and high rent was preventing the business from continued growth. I decided to change to an entirely  online presense in an attempt to increase my customer  base and decrease my operating costs.
